Johnstone's Ultra Matt and Ultra Gloss has higher solids content than standard paints giving it increased opacity. The formulations have been engineered to give a thicker paint film to avoid overspreading, giving the appearance of a two-coat application in just one coat.

Johnstone's Ultra range is easy to apply as the formulation has been specifically designed to give less splatter than standard paints.
